Over the last 35 years, Jackie Gorring's creative journey has involved investigating connections to people and place while experimenting with a range of printmaking, sculpting and drawing techniques. More recently, her work has explored subjects surrounding family and reminiscence, institutional care and ageing and reflections on other cultures as a result of her recent travel experiences, culminating in a diverse range of rich, vibrant, multi-layered 2D and 3D works using unconventional materials and printing methods. The Royal South Street Society competitions run for 14 weeks each year. They cover 16 theatrical disciplines of voice, music, and movements, and provide some 40,000 on stage performance opportunities for artists from all over Australia. Four Ballarat venues are used as well as Her Majesty's Theatre. Competitions open on 26th July with Herald Sun Aria heats commencing on Wednesday 8th September. The Energetiks Dance competitions commence on Friday 17th September and Calisthenics to commence on Monday 4th October.
